The Gathering Place exists to support women and their children who are experiencing homelessness or poverty by providing a safe daytime refuge and resources for self-sufficiency.  Children's Dance Place offers free dance classes for children at The Gathering Place.

Katherine Dines, is a Grammy^®-nominated songwriter, a recording and teaching artist, a keynote presenter and the creator of the award-winning Hunk-Ta-Bunk-Ta^® Music series.

Her interactive performances take her all over the world and are a unique combination of movement, sign language, humor, multi-cultural instruments, zany props and theater. In addition to live concerts, she presents educational workshops for parents and teachers. An advocate for literacy and the arts, she is affiliated with the Wolf Trap Institute (VA) and Young Audiences (CO). She is also the spokesperson for Music Rewards Fundraising, a company that raises money for education through the sale of music.
