FALL 2010 DANCING ART WORKSHOP INSTRUCTORS
Artist Theresa Clowes believes that being an artist does not stray far from being a teacher; they both come from the heart and soul. Her artwork incorporates juxtapositions: textiles and architecture, ephemeral fabric and discarded objects, translucency and opaqueness. For a moment, she enables viewers to slow down, observe, and contemplate the calming rhythms and repeated patterns found in nature. Her work has been exhibited locally at Vertigo Art Space and Edge Gallery and nationally in Kansas City, Detroit, Houston, Aspen, and Portland, Oregon. She received her B.F.A. from Kansas City Art Institute and an M.F. A. from Cranbrook Academy of Art.
Dancer Heather Brooke is the owner of Children's Dance Place and instructs CDP classes in Pre-Ballet, Modern, and Creative Dance. Heather's guiding mission is to support each child's creative development and expression, right along side the development of a strong foundation for dance technique. Heather's dance pursuits have taken her to dance schools and performance opportunities in Chicago, North Carolina and New York City. She currently performs with local choreographers in the Denver/Boulder area. Heather's movement background is in Ballet, Modern Dance, Body-Mind Centering, and Laban-Bartenieff. She holds a B.F.A. from The Colorado College, and an M.A. (Dance/Movement Therapy) from the Naropa University.
