PRESENCE
Many of my works are painted "en plein
air" ; on the spot to express with immediacy and freshness my
vision of the presence of the motif.
PROCESS
Our world, is process. The motif is process;
ever-changing, in motion, growing, decaying, witnessed under
transitory conditions. Our perception of this world is process also;
electrical, chemical, neurological; with varying levels of awareness
and understanding, changing focus, position, attitude, and
interpretation.
Change is one of the fundamental questions of
existence. Art, as an apprehension and sharing of order, pattern, and
beauty links us to process and the grandeur of experience.
RICHNESS
Visual richness is one of life's gifts. And
not being aware and enjoying the gift is to waste an opportunity of
great significance and meaning.
One of my goals in art is to share a
perception of the incredible richness and beauty of our world, and the
emotional and spiritual reward connected with it.
CONNECTION
As I witness and participate in this blessed
bittersweet "dance", my wish is to share, in figurative
works, images of people connecting with life and with each other.
