Artist Statement
Dennis Anderson

     What a marvelous world I have experienced. That is what I paint, my experience of the diversity of life from expressing feelings to the way light and color varies perception. I love the tangible feeling of representational shapes. Yet I also love the transcendent curious feelings of shapes that are not recognizable but abstracted. The combination of both what’s known and unknown in the same painting engages me as the creator and hopefully the viewer in a curious involvement. This combination gives me a marvelous feeling of freedom as it allows the paint to create new realities.
